Overview
Last stage of the Adriatic variant: from Treviso the route follows the Sile Greenway, skirts Padua past its treasures and climbs gently into the Euganean Hills to rejoin the main line at the Abbey of Praglia.
Notes from the road
The Restera del Sile runs on packed gravel, shaded and quiet. Padua is crossed with care, through traffic lights and city traffic. Ticks in the final woods deserve an evening check, without alarm. Past the city, the road climbs gently toward the Colli Euganei.
What to see
Walls and canals of Treviso, Sile River Greenway, Padua with Prato della Valle, the Basilica of St Anthony and the Scrovegni Chapel (detour), Euganean Hills, Abbey of Praglia
Where to sleep
Foresteria Abbazia di Praglia (50-75€); B&Bs in Abano Terme (60-90€); Euganean Hills agriturismo (55-80€)
Where to eat
Risi e bisi, bigoli in salsa, Padovana hen, Euganean Hills wines, St Anthony sweets in Padua
Tips
A long stage (80 km): flat until the final Euganean ramps. Crossing Padua demands attention to traffic. Arrive at Praglia in time for vespers.
Water & supplies
Frequent services: from the Treviso belt to Padua, at two-thirds distance, bars and fountains never run out. No isolated sections; watch the traffic around Padua. The finale in the Euganean Hills is quiet, with water at the abbey.
