Overview

Descent from the monastic mountains towards the Casentino valley and Arezzo. The route drops through broadleaf woods and chestnut groves, touching medieval villages down to the city of Piero della Francesca.

Notes from the road

From Camaldoli the descent to Arezzo crosses chestnut woods and villages of the Casentino. Bibbiena and Rassina offer water and food at the halfway point. The landscape opens gradually, from woodland to cultivated fields. Arezzo welcomes riders with every useful service, bike shops included.

Mostly downhill but with 350m of residual climbing. The landscape shifts from mountain to hill country. Arezzo has every service.
